Hello!  We are the Thorn family and we are preparing to serve long term in Southeast Asia.  Our journey to cross cultural missions began in 2014 when Jonathan was on staff at SHC.  We had a deep love and desire to serve the local community but also began praying that God would give us boldness to serve Him in any capacity.  Through those prayers and a short term trip to Southeast Asia, God confirmed in both of us a call to move our family there long term.  We have been preparing and training for that call since then.  Our last step is 3 months of training in Pennsylvania before heading to Southeast Asia early next year (2019).  We are excited about the opportunity to share the Gospel in a Muslim country but also recognize the challenges in this.  Here are three ways you can pray for us right now:

(1) Pray for our marriage and our children in the transitions and goodbyes.

(2) Pray for our families and friends as they prepare to send us off.

(3) Pray that we would be strong witnesses to Christ in SE Asia.
